The Italian plan for logistics presented
We believe that the improvement of logistics, from ports to freight village, from the urban distribution of goods to shorter waiting time for loading and unloading, coupled with a more convincing use of forms of comodality, will allow us to attract new volumes of traffic that today choose the efficiency of logistics organization in Northern Europe and help our country to grow 0.3 to 0.5 points of GDP a year." With these words, the Secretary for Infrastructure and Transportation and President of the general Council for automotive and logistics, Bartolomeo Giachino, presented in Rome the new National Plan of Logistics. A plan that was revised in the light of the great changes that the economic crisis and the new world economic balance. The plan aims to reduce the logistics cost inefficiency of 10 points a year by 2011 (equivalent to 4 billion). The plan dedicates wide attention to Intelligent Transport System (ITS) as fundamental instruments in the management of the supply chain.

TTS Italia at the ITS European Congress in Lyon
TTS Italia will participate in the 8° ITS European Congress that will take place in Lyon, France, from 6 to 9 June 2011. The Congress theme is geared towards "Intelligent Mobility – ITS for sustainable transport of persons and goods in urban regions" (http://2011.itsineurope.com/). Focus will mainly be on topic such as: co-modal urban transport management, electromobility, cooperative systems and integrated mobility services, governance and business issues… Bringing intelligence into mobility will be of special importance for achieving more sustainable transport in urban areas. Intelligent transport systems are contributing substantially to the safety, efficiency and environmental performance of mobility. The Congress represents a unique a great opportunità to exchange information/best practices with more than 1000 stakeholders, decisions and policy makers as well as to showcase the latest ITS solutions and open business and partnership opportunities.

Autostrade per l'Italia appointed to establish a heavy goods vehicles eco-tax system
France chooses Autostrade, TTS Italia founding member, for financing, design, construction, operation and maintenance of the heavy goods vehicle eco-tax collection and control system. The Italian company, leading the with 70% the Ecomouv consortium which includes the French groups Snfc, Thales, Sfr e Steria, expects total revenues to over two billion euro. The Group and the French Ministry of Ecology, Sustainable Development, Transport and Housing are now starting the legal and financial closing phase with a view to signing the public-private partnership agreement to make the eco-tax collection and control system available. The contract will last 13 years. The French Ministry for Ecology, Sustainable Development, Transport and Public Housing, at the end of the procedure for tenders issued in May 2009, selected Autostrade per l’Italia as the best offer and so the Italian company will win the contract to build and operate the toll system satellite compulsory for heavy vehicles over 3.5 tonnes in transit on the national road network of about 15,000 kilometers (Eco Taxe Poids Lourds). In detail, there is an initial phase of 21 months for design and construction phase management and maintenance of eleven and a half years.

Autostrade Tech and Project Automation win tender for electronic system for access control
Autostrade Tech, spin off of Autostrade per l’Italia, TTS Italia founding member, and Project Automation, TTS Italia ordinary members, in a temporary association, have won the tender bidden by Municipality of Perugia (Centre Italy) for the provision, installation and full service maintenance, for at least two years, of an electronic system for access control. The system will be implemented on 12 lanes within Perugia. The tender has a final value of 728 999,00 Euro.

Citizens connected to mobility with "Luce Verde-Regione Lazio"
The president of the Lazio Region, Renata Polverini, the regional minister for Transport and Mobility, Francesco Lollobrigida, and the President of the Automobile Club Italia (ACI), TTS Italia founding member, Enrico Gelpi, presented on 26 January "Luce Verde-Regione Lazio, the new central for infomobility created by the Lazio Region and ACI. "The service - said the president Renata Polverini, born with a record: it is the first in Italy for technological equipment and the effective integration between the different sources of information available in the region. The service will be operational from today and will provide real-time information on traffic and public transport, thus helping the people of Lazio on the move throughout the territory. " "Luce Verde-Regione Lazio" also involves the private realities of broadcasting as Lazio Region and ACI have provided a free platform for the creation of the news. The information from the central concern of public transport services, also with reference to delays and inefficiency, traffic and viability, with particular attention to the congestion and construction sites, the situation in the main ports and airports, with the objective to prevent inconvenience to sudden interruptions of service or adverse weather conditions. The station uses a system of automated multi-channel. The objective of the Lazio Region and ACI is the continuous improvement of the quality of travel and road safety, through the acquisition of information useful to the identification of critical points of the road network.

Kapsch-Busi wins tender for telematic system provision
Kapsch-Busi, TTS Italia ordinary member, has won the tender bidden by the Municipality of Salerno (South Italy) for the expansion of its telematic system for access control in restricted traffic zones. The tender also includes supply and installation of the system provided. The final value of the tender is 219 200,71 Euro.

Project Automation wins tender for video surveillance system
Project Automation, TTS Italia ordinary member, has won the tender bidden by the Municipality of (Southern Italy) for the provision of an integrated video surveillance system within the program for safer and better city. The final value of the tender is 450 000,00 Euro.

Telespazio acquires space activities of Vega and Elsag Datamat
Telespazio (67% Finmeccanica and 33% Thales), TTS Italia ordinary member, has acquired since January 1, 2011 space activities of two companies of the Finmeccanica group: Britain's Vega and Elsag Datamat, TTS Italia ordinary member. This has been announced by Telespazio in a statement stating that the revised framework "consolidated its role as a center of excellence for the services of Finmeccanica and space applications, broading products portfolio and technology skills, particularly towards the institutional market in UK and European in general." Vega, recalls the note, is a company that operates internationally since 1978 in the field of space services, supporting space agencies, satellite operators and manufacturing companies. In 2008 the company was acquired by Finmeccanica and since 2009 it has been under the control of Selex Sistemi Integrati. Vega Space generated by the spin-off of space activities of Vega, is active in Great Britain, Germany, France, Holland and Spain, and covers the entire value chain of space missions, from design to development to operations management. The company, which counts on 390 employees, provides consultancy, engineering services, develops technology solutions that support the success of missions and space initiatives in the field of satellite navigation, Earth observation, scientific programs, the telecommunications, human spaceflight and communications for the defense. With the acquisition of Space Business Unit of Elsag Datamat, which has 111 employees, Telespazio incorporates the extensive experience of Telespazio Finmeccanica company in this sector, characterized by the provision of services and software, and the realization of complex systems in the framework of national and international programs.
