Project Automation develops aggregator module for the estimation of crossing times on the arcs of the road network
Project Automation, TTS Italia ordinary member, has developed an aggregator module for estimating crossing times on the arcs of the road network on the basis of data from mobile sensors (onboard unit for the collection of floating car data, FCD, or location GSM devices).
The main task of the aggregator module is to assess the performance of the road network in terms of average speed and journey times, starting from the information collected from vehicles or from equipment moving on the GSM network.
The raw information acquired by mobile sensors provide indications of Position-Velocity-Time (PVT) for each individual vehicle: data are associated to the arcs of the road network of reference (map matching), and contribute to the estimation of travel times.
The development of the aggregator module can also be automatically reported on several graphs roads, owners or standards based on appropriate correlation tables.
